Static sealing. According to the working pressure, static sealing can be divided into medium and low pressure static sealing and high pressure static sealing. Medium and low pressure static seals are commonly used with softer materials and wider gaskets, while high-pressure static seals use metal gaskets with harder materials and narrow contact widths.
Dynamic seal. According to whether the seal is in contact with the zero-degree part that moves relative to it, it can be divided into contact seal and non-contact seal.
Generally speaking, contact seals have good sealing performance, but are limited by friction and wear, and are suitable for occasions where the sealing surface line is low. According to the contact position of the seal, the contact seal can be divided into circumferential (radial) seal and end face seal. Face seal is also called mechanical seal. Non-contact dynamic seals include labyrinth seals and dynamic seals.
The former is to use the throttling effect of the fluid in the gap to limit the leakage, and the leakage is relatively large. It is usually used for sealing between stages, etc.; occasions where the requirements are not high. Power seals include centrifugal seals, floating ring seals, spiral seals, etc. The pressure head generated by the power element offsets the pressure difference between the two sides of the seal to overcome leakage. It has a high sealing performance, but it consumes a lot of energy and is difficult to obtain a high pressure head. . Non-contact sealing, because the sealing surface is not in direct contact, the starting power is small and the service life is long.
