         Causes of deformation of oil-resistant O-rings

         (1) Factors of compression and extension of o-ring

         Due to the different formulations of o-ring rubber materials, the amount of compression and stretching of o-rings produced by different companies are also different. The product will produce the imagination of compression stress relaxation under long-term compression. This phenomenon will gradually expand over time. The longer the time, the smaller the compression and extension, and the insufficient elasticity will cause leakage. It appears that the most direct way to change is to increase the cross-sectional size of the product, but it will also lead to an increase in the structure of the product.

         (2) The relationship between temperature and O-ring relaxation process

         Temperature is very important for the relaxation of the o-ring. No matter what kind of rubber material, it will accelerate its aging speed at high temperature. When the temperature in the environment is higher, the deformation of gas compression will be greater. When the product deformation exceeds At 40%, the o-ring will slowly lose its elasticity, causing leakage. When the o-ring is installed, there will be initial stresses, which will gradually disappear due to the long-term relaxation of the sealing ring and the gradual decrease in temperature. In some cases, it may disappear with a sharp drop in temperature. Even if the rubber material is resistant to low temperatures, it will not be more than 25% of the stress generated at 20 degrees.
